Values of the Foundation

Ozarks Regional Foundation has identified a set of values that can, collectively and separately, help to define those objectives that will contribute to the long-term viability of the rural Ozarks region.

We value responsible citizenship for the contribution that make to our region. We know that our region and each of the communities within the region are substantially improved when each of us demonstrates conscientious dedication to the wellbeing of future generations.

We value education as the indispensable foundation upon which the progress of our region and its citizens depends.

We value the health of the region’s citizens and recognize the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles and nutrition.

We value economic independence and believe that working to remediate the effects of poverty in the region is of critical importance.

We value the heritage and history of our region. We know that preserving and promoting our heritage and history is vital to our culture and economy.

We value our environment. We believe that the environmental quality of the region can be preserved and enhanced while promoting the economic and cultural benefits of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and civic improvement. We know that the region’s future generations depend upon the responsible stewardship that we must demonstrate now throughout out region.

We value the agricultural heritage of the region and recognize the importance of agriculture as a vital component of the region’s future economic stability and growth.
